Rivers Probe: Why Sitting On N4 Billion Agric Fund Flopped

The Rivers Judicial Commission of Inquiry on the administration of former
Gov. Rotimi Amaechi will begin hearing in the State Monorail project
Thursday, August 27, 2015 the Chairman,
Justice George Omereji, has said.
Omereji made the announcement after former the State's Commissioner
for Agriculture, Mr Emma Chinda, and 12 former local government area chairmen
representing co-operative societies failed to appear and explain issues on the
disbursement of the agriculture fund.
When the Commission sitting in Port Harcourt convened Wednesday,
Mr Zacchaeus Adangor, Counsel to the panel announced the
failure of persons summoned to testify on the
disbursement of the N4 billion agricultural loan
“In view of the fact that there is no witness to give evidence on the
agriculture scheme, the commission has decided to adjourn the
proceedings till Aug 27 for the hearing on the monorail project,” he
said.
