The country’s cadet side will leave
for the South American country to continue preparations for the 2015 U17 FIFA
World Cup billed for Chile.
Nigeria U17 team is expected to
leave for Argentina for a training tour towards a brilliant outing at next
month’s FIFA U17 World Cup.
Emmanuel Amuneke’s boys finished
fourth in the African U17 championship staged in Niger Republic and recently
placed third at the Suwon International Youth championship staged in South
Korea.
On Tuesday, the team defeated
Nationwide One outfit Shekarau Babes 2-1 in a friendly game played at the Abuja
National Stadium.
Victor Osimhen’s winner in the 85th
gave Emmanuel Amuneke’s boys the victory against the team owned by the former
governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
Nigeria will face hosts Chile,
Croatia and USA in Group A of the preliminary round of the FIFA World U17
Championship in Chile.
They will face the United States U17
in the opening match of the competition on October 17, 2015 at the Estadio
Nacional Julio MartÃnez Prádanos, Santiago.
