Lee Selby
Lee Selby, already known as the 'Welsh Mayweather', has set his sights on replacing the undefeated American as boxing's pound-for-pound No.1.

Selby picked up the nickname after spending time in the Mayweather Boxing Club where he has perfected the classy hit-and-not-get-hit style, which helped him claim the IBF featherweight title against Evgeny Gradovich in May.

The Welshman, 28, has since signed an advisory deal with the influential Al Haymon, who has famously steered the latter stages of Mayweather's career.

The 38-year-old has recently stated that he wishes he had always had Haymon in his corner and suggested that he would have made a billion dollars in his career had he done so.

The five-weight world champion supposedly brought the curtain down on his time as a fighter by clearly outpointing Andre Berto in Las Vegas on Saturday to go 49-0 and now, he says, the search begins for the 'next Mayweather'.

And Selby wants to prove himself as a contender for the crown.

He said: 'Who can take over from Mayweather as the pound-for-pound No.1?

"Well there 's a young lad from Barry Town. I'd like to be it.

'Its all abut legacy, money plays a big part and as Mayweather says I am a prize fighter - and my prize is money.'

Selby kicks off his career under Haymon with the first defence of his IBF belt against former three-weight world champion Fernando Montiel in Phoenix, Arizona on October 14, live on Sky Sports.

And he reckons his link-up with Haymon is his next major step to superstardom.

He said: 'You see the job Al Haymon has done with Mayweather, the money he has made, and he said if he was with Al Haymon from the start of his career, he would be a billionaire.
