The House of Representatives committee Chairman on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Hon. Linus Okorie, has extolled the leadership qualities of the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, particularly on the successful composition of the 96 standing committees of the House.

Okorie told journalists  on Sunday, said that by his display of altruistic sensitivity to and recognition of the political diversity of the House, Dogara has confirmed his initial rating as a nationalist and preferred choice as Speaker of the 8th House of Representatives.

He commended the political maturity of the Speaker, his accommodation and sensitivity in the distribution of the Committees leadership, particularly in the spread to reflect federal character that cut across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria and accommodated all the political Parties represented in the House.

 Okorie who represents Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal constituency in Ebonyi State, pointed out that the House Speaker has by the equilibrial composition of the committees raised the bar on qualities of parliamentary leadership, adding that the political equity Dogara created in the House has also diminished partisanship in the Nigeria legislature.

 He appealed to all members of the House to continue to support Dogara's leadership as the members settle down to confront the urgent needs of the Nigerian people.

 "Issues of unemployment, poverty, corruption, infrastructural decay, economic downturn, weak currency and insecurity are still germane in the country, which is the more reason we must resist any forces of disunity and distraction in order to focus on national development," noted Okorie.

 He reminded the constituted 96 committee chairmen and their deputies that their appointment is a call to national duty and that they are bound to carry all members along.
