Osun Progressive Left, a non-governmental organisation, has called on politicians to be mindful of inciting statements capable of disrupting the peace and stability of the state.

The state Coordinator of the group, Mr Wale Adebisi, made the call in Osogbo on Saturday.

Adebisi said, ``impunity and lawlessness among politicians can only breed societal instability, which can undermine the basis for progress and development.’’

He said that divergent views and ideologies among politicians did not warrant instigating the citizens to socio-political and ethnic crises.

``I want to say that divergent views and ideologies among politician does not give them the audacity to instigate socio-political and ethnic violence in the state,’’ Adebisi said.

According to him, politicians from opposition parties must learn to accept defeat in good faith and rallied round those elected for the growth of any state.

He called on the media to ensure that information disseminated were thoroughly scrutinised before the large audience have access to it.
