Enugu State Police Command, has arrested four suspects in connection with the death of a mother and her daughter in Ijo-Ozalla, Igbo-Etiti local government area.

A statement by Mr Ebere Amaraizu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said the suspects were assisting the command in unraveling the cause of their death and arrest other culprits.

``A woman identified as Uche Nweze and her daughter, Ukamaka Nweze from Ijo-Ozalla in Igboetiti local government area were said to have fallen into a well and died.

``Their corpses had been recovered and deposited in a mortuary for post mortem examination,’’ the statement said.

In a related development, the Police said they have detained a suspect in Umulumgbe, Udi local government area for being in possession of a locally made double barrel pistol and three live cartridges.

According to the statement, members of Neighborhood Watch Group in the area arrested the suspect at a beer parlour with a gun which he handed over to them.

The statement appealed to the public to be security conscious, law abiding and partner with security agencies to secure the state.
