Experienced coach Kadiri Ikhana has said his team Enyimba are not yet popping Champagne even though they have moved a step closer to clinching a seventh league crown.
With only two rounds of matches to the end of the championship, Enyimba are on 68 points, six points clear of closest rivals Warri Wolves after they grabbed all points at stake in the Abia 'El-Classico' at Abia Warriors on Sunday.
"We have not won the league yet, but I must say that we are closer than other teams towards winning our seventh league shield,” Ikhana said.
“The win in Umuahia to a very large extent gave us the bragging rights, but we must not rest on our oars until we achieve a good result in our last home game against Warri Wolves."
Last season's top scorer Mfon Udoh came off the bench to score a wonderful goal on 70 minutes to give visiting and much-determined Enyimba a road win and consolidate their grip at the top of the 20-team table.
