Business leaders from Abia State have begun massive mobilisation for the return of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa to the Senate ahead the proposed Abia North Senatorial District re-run election.

In an interactive session with journalists in Umuahia, the business leaders under the guise of League of Abia Industrialists  urged voters to "shun any material inducement from any candidate and do the needful by casting their votes for the future  of their children which can only be gotten through quality representation at the national level" through Ohuabunwa, whom he described as 'our ever trusted candidate'

Maintaining that the era of sending mediocre to represent Abians at national level was over,President of the body Mr. Obineche Orji argued that after careful and critical screening of all the candidates by the body, they reached a logical conclusion that   Sen. Ohuabunwa has the intellectual capacity to draw national attention to Abia State that will invariably usher growth in the society.

Orji explained that on that on few occasions when he met Sen. Ohuabunwa on professional grounds, he solicited support  and advice on how he would use his position to bring drastic development to Abia state.

“I can assure you that Abia State and the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria is missing one of their best brains  and this is taking its toll on the quality of debate in the Senate.

“Again, we have studied the judgment of Appeal Court in Owerri that annulled his election,  we did not see any portion of it that shifted blames to him or his supporters,  so it beats our imagination on why no individual or body has been punished for this annulment which has painfully denied the good people of Abia North Senatorial District quality  representation in the senate,” he queried.
