Thursday, March 17, 2016, was set aside for the investiture of  Abia Governor, Dr Victor Ikpeazu  as the President of Ridge Club, Umuahia.

Though an honorary position  it is in keeping with the tradition of the social cum sports club, one of the oldest East of such, East of the Niger, that the Executive governor of the State is customarily  decorated as 
the President of the Club

However, it appeared that Chairman of the Club, Uchenna Dike and his Exco members did not reckon with the ever busy schedule of Ikpeazu. Thus while they fixed the time for the programme for 1300 hrs at the club house, 
a stone throw from the Governors's office, it was several hours before the governor showed up.

For four hours, Gov Ikpeazu kept members of the club, including the elder statesman, Sir Bob Ogbuagu, chairman of the occassion, Emeka Stanley, Chairman, ASOPADEC and other State functionaries waiting.

There was no word whether he would grace the occasion or not till several minutes past 4pm when his advance team showed up, signalling his coming
