Issa Aremu, Chairperson of Industrial Global Union, Sub-Saharan Africa, on Thursday described the continued incarceration of the 219 Chibok girls by Boko Haram insurgents as an assault on humanity.

 Aremu said at a press conference in Kaduna to mark the two year anniversary of the girls' abduction that the world must join hands to liberate the girls.

 `` Those who abducted the 219 girls from their school have definitely criminally abducted communities of future workers, doctors, nurses and leaders.

 ``We must therefore join forces with the forces of progress and development world wide for the liberation of our beloved girls of Chibok. ``

 He commended the measures taken so far by the Federal Government to root out the Boko Haram insurgents.

 ``We acknowledge the commendable efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari administration of Nigeria to smash the dens of the Boko Haram terrorists.

 ``Today, no known territory of Nigeria is under the heel of the criminal gangs masquerading as religious crusaders,,'' Aremu said.

 He however said the war against the terrorists should not be just to reclaim territories but also regain and restore lives, including the rescue of Chibok girls.
