* Ikpeazu
 By Tony ICHEKU, Abuja

Finally, the bombastic political, no, press  statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Mr. Godwin Adindu shows clearly
that he and the dozens of so-called 'Media Aides'  in the Governor's office are out-classed when  issues revolving  around information dissemination, media management and  proactive public relations emanates.

The rodomontade titled: "Abia Govt Embarrassed by Report of  50 Shallow Graves in Abia Forest"  graphically depicted a man bent on
fetching water from Imo River with a basket! From claims and counter claims, Mr. Adindu actually took pot shots at his colleagues  better informed security agencies and the military. Pray what is Gov. Okezie Okpeazu doing with his security vote?

Perusal of Adindu's rant shows that  the honourable CPS, a respectable colleague has turned out to be the real  embarrassment to journalism and his paymaster!

For Adindu's clarification, the media did not claim that the Department of State Services, DSS has uncovered 55 shallow graves in a forest
somewhere in Abia State. The DSS actually STATED that they did uncover such, after finding that 5 Hausa-Fulani men were buried in five of them.

One appreciates the retrogressing standards in journalism, therefore Adindu could be forgiven for his shoddy fact-finding mission at the various security agencies at Umuahia.

If Adindu uncovered a copy of any petition, he must written it himself! And talking of flagrant abuse of professionalism, Adindu should appoint himself to lecture the security agencies and military how to do their jobs.

And on his thumbs down on his colleagues, its like the blame game of pointing with one finger at another, while the rest four finger points at the accuser. Let Adindu and his paymasters tell the world how much they have done to establish rapport with the media.

From my personal interaction, Adindu has this perchance of dismissing every story. Now, if I have a good story that does not really need Adindu's side or could be balanced elsewhere, why should precious time be wasted to get his reaction which in sensible parlance would be watery, and neither here nor there.

Really funny that Abia governor, Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu who receives huge security vote could  claim ignorance of the Abia community versus Fulani
herdsmen saga which was  for over a week in brewing until it got the attention of the security authorities in Abuja, May God help Abia!

Wake up Ikpeazu! wake up Adindu, smell the coffee guys!!!. You guys have gone to sleep on the job, DSS issued its statement since April 9, and who knows what has gone under. Talk of tension and ethnic acrimony, what a joke on Abians!

As onye Igbo, here is my last take: Until the policy of indifference, apathy and disrespect for media and correspondents in Umuahia is discarded, and done with, there will be more embarrassment for Abians, Ndigbo and Ikpeazu.

And until his media aides ceases grovelling and squabbling over crumbs from the master's table, there will scandals from Abia North, Abia South and Abia Centrals, and I bet Ikpeazu will find no hiding place. Abia Kwenu!
