* Iroegbu 

The blogger, Emenike Iroegbu recently arrested in his home in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and abducted to Umuahia, Abia State capital claims that the 
embattled administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is behind his travails.

 Iroegbu who publishes the online blog: 'Abia Facts newspaper' was interrogated at the State Headquarters of DSS, Umuahia and released Wednesday.

 The 38-years blogger who narrated is experience in a write-up published on the blog Thursday narrated that it had been a cat and mouse relationship between him and successive Abia State Governments. According to him, after an exchange with an aide of former Governor Theodore Orj, "... it immediately dawned on us that publishing any information about anyone who is perceived as the enemy of the government on ground in Abia State is a crime"

 He however maintained that the blog is neither for nor against Gov. Ikpeazu's administratiion: "If someone tells you that ABIA FACTS NEWSPAPER is attacking or revealing deep things about Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s government because we don’t like them, it is a lie.  AFN has been on top of the game since Sen. T. A Orji’s time as governor"

 Iroegbu argued that he was motivated to set up the blog to  publish exactly what is happening in Abia state. "There was no media platform which was ready to give other political ideologies the space to state their views so that Abians and Nigerians can read. Abia Facts Newspaper became odd to power brokers in the state, even as they tried to pretend the platform  did not exist, AFN kept growing more and more.

 "We setup Abia Facts Newspaper as a news platform focused on feeding Abians the true facts of happenings in Abia State (the good, the bad and the ugly)", he affirmed.

 Iroegbu who also spoke to www.theledgerng.com via the telephone explained that there had been various attempts to clone his blog by Abia State Government, ABSG. Abia government officials had also attempted to blackmail us, but we were few steps ahead of them.

 Narrating his experience with the DSS, he said he was shown screen shots of stories allegedly published by his blog. "But we never published those stories. Yes, I had seen documents relating to such stories, but we could not authenticate the documents and we never published them"

 Iroegbu who denied being pro or anti anybody or interest said his only crime is allowing the opposition to have their say and publishing the misdemeanours of government of the day. "Our reports are objective and professional, we try to get all sides of the story and we are not against Gov Ikpeazu nor are we working for Uche Ogah or Alex Otti"

 The blogger who added that he is neither afraid nor cowed insisted that he is being hounded by the Abia State Government. Pressed further to substantiate his 
allegations, he said his sources keeps his updated of the government's various plans to cage him. "I have not wronged the Abia State Government in any way, I have even tried to build a harmonious relationship with them, but they do not appear interested. But nothing would stop me from practising journalism in a professional manner" he proffered.

 Efforts through the telephone and sms to get the reaction of the Press aide to Gov. Ikpeazu failed as he did not  pick the call nor returned it. He also failed to  respond to sms sent to his number.

 It will be recalled that one of the infamous actions of former Abia governor, Sen. T A Orji was the arrest of a Lagos-based journalist, Ebere Wabara from his Lagos home and abduction to Umuahia in a Gestapo-style to answer trumped charges of defamation in a stage-managed magistrate court case.  Wabara, who was abducted on a Sunday morning was only let off the hook following the outcry of his employer, Sun newspaper who petitioned the Police authorities.
