….Urges  NFF, LMC to be vigilant                                                                                                                                                                               The Nigeria Professional Football Leagues comes to the end today as the last matches of the season would be played across the country, forth position Wikki Tourists of Bauchi has alleged that they are plans by the two South South based NPFL clubs; Akwa United and Rivers United to fix their match in favour of Rivers United.

Rivers United is second on the log with 57 points behind the leader Enugu Rangers with 60 points, while Wikki Tourists are forth with 54 points and Ifeanyi Uba third with 56 points.

A win or draw or even a loss by Rangers will give them the trophy except Rivers United beat their hosts five nil which alots of Nigeria fans believe is possible considering the pass antecedents of the Uyo based club.

However, the Bauchi based NPFL side has called on the League Management Company, LMC and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to beam their satellite in Uyo, reason  been that Akwa united were once indulged in a similar act like this with their neighbours, then Rovers of Calabar some years back when thirteen goals were produced in the said match.

“We have gotten informationson good authority that the two clubs have agreed to fix the match so that Rivers united will secure all three points and stand a chance to pick continental ticket because the possibility of winning the league is slim because Rangers are likely to win,” Our source said.

Meanwhile, the media officer of Akwa United, Uwen Ekoh in a telephone chat denied any involvement of his club in such arrangement, stressing that they can’t afford to lose any point to their visitors despite they are their neighbours .

“Write it in capital letters, it is not true that we have planned to fix the match and to give our visitors the three points.
“I am sure some people just want to paddle the rumourse to cause crisis. That is no true and it cannot be true,” Akwa united media officer, Ekoh insisted.

If Rivers united loss their match and Wikki won theirs at home against Sunshine both of them will finish on 57 points each but Wikki has superior goals difference, which will give them continental ticket.

According to the media officer of Rivers united, Sammy Wejinya, “The stakes are high as Rivers United will be hoping for an improbable combination of results to emerge champions.

"The permutations will however come to nought if Rangers as much as avoid defeat (they are overwhelming favourites to secure a big victory) against El Kanemi Warriors in their final league game of the season in Enugu on Sunday, a fact not lost on the Rivers United technical manager, Stanley Eguma.”
