A group identifying itself as the Anti-Corruption Unit of the National Youth Council of Nigeria has petitioned the Ethics and Privileges Committee of the House of Representatives we accusing Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin of operating several Foreign Bank accounts with the Barclays Bank,
United Kingdom.
In a statement, Ifeanyi Okonkwo, Coordinator of the group listed the accounts to include:

Barclays Bank Mortgage Account - SC 204744 AC 94030664
Barclays Bank Euro Currency Account - SC 204744 AC 52339433

It stated that the address used in opening the accounts is # 81 Cotswold Gardens, London, NW2 1PE
The group accused Hon Jibrin of contravening the Fifth schedule, Paragraph 3 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria forbidding certain categories of public officers from maintaining or operating a bank account in any country outside Nigeria
The group further alleged that it has obtained a Code of Conduct Bureau Assets
Declaration Form of of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin which he deposed to at the
FCT High Court on 8th June, 2015.
"From the copy of the form, it was revealed that Hon. Abdumumin Jibrin declared he owns only one house, a 4-bedroom bungalow in Kaduna which he bought in 2008 for One Hundred and Fifty Million (N150, 000, 000:00) Naira only, furniture of Two Million Five Hundred (N2, 500, 000:00) Naira only for
the 150, 000, 000:00 house, one car which he also bought in the same 2008 for Fifteen Million (N15, 000, 000:00) Naira only, while he also claims in the form that he does not have any vacant undeveloped plot of land, does not own a farm, orchard or ranch, factory or other enterprise and He also perjured in
his deposition that he does not own a foreign account" it stated.
Based on its findings, the group urged the Speaker and the House
to publicly investigate the fresh evidence of corruption and pass a resolution declaring the seat of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin vacant so that INEC can conduct election into the Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency.
It further asked the Chairman of Code of Conduct Bureau to immediately refer Hon Jibrin to the Code of Conduct Tribunal for immediate trial and barring him from holding public office for life".
It will be recalled that Jibrin, currently under suspension from the House has been involved in a running battle with the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara over budget padding and other acts of corrupt practices in the House.
