 Political aides to the Delta State House of Assembly members are seeking spiritual means as measures to solving an alleged unpaid allowances by their employers. Nosa Eresoyen, Asaba

Hundreds of the aides of the Assembly premises Friday was seen singing praises aloud in one of the halls where they have assembled to seek the face of almighty God to intervene in their allowances allegedly owed them by their bosses. 

 In an orchestrated Jamboree, the aides begged God to touch the hearts of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the speaker, Hon. Monday Igbuya to approve and pay their furniture allowances which they claimed had been withheld for over one year and eight months ago. 

 One of the aides who gave his name as Ejire Akposere told our reporter that after due consideration of their difficult times over an alleged unpaid allowances, they resolved to embark on a 9-day fasting and prayers expected to be rounded off on March 14, 2017 for God to intervene for Governor Okowa and the speaker, Hon. Monday Igbuya to pay their allowances. 

 “We want God to touch the hearts of these our leaders to extent the prosperity to us the political aides to Assembly members” he added. 

 Investigation had revealed that huge percentage alleged cut-off from the lawmakers” political aides’ month salaries to service members of their constituencies had unsettled the aides who described the alleged cut-off as “wicked and out of place”. 

 But the speaker, Mr. Monday Igbuya through his Press Secretary, Mr. Henry Eberiere described the aides’ line of action as laughable and blamed the non-payment of the allowance on poor economic and hash recession periods. 

 Also in a swift reaction, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah said the hash recession periods forced the State Government into cutting off many allowances, and urged the political aides to also pray for improved economic for their allowances to be paid. 

 While thanking the speaker for a successful leadership at the Assembly, within one year eight months of his speaker-ship, the aides prayed God to give him the ennoblement to always stand for the people at all times. 

 The assembly premises was charged with praises and worship songs as one of the lawmakers who did not want his name in the print said: “It all bothers on recession, once we are out of its, allowances will come back, even we are faced with same problem”.
