After extensive deliberations and the review of key issues, the assembly of PDP Northern Leaders and Elders passes the following RESOLUTIONS: 1. That we unanimously support the efforts of the National Caretaker Committee to ensure the unity, integrity and full cooperate existence of the Peoples Democratic Party. 2. That we totally support the legal action taken to appeal to the Supreme Court on the recent judgment of the Court of Appeal. 3. In view of the need for an all-inclusive solution to the current leadership crisis of the PDP, which has literally left the Party in a State of Emergency, the leaders agreed that the situation requires the application of the “doctrine of necessity”. This means a genuine reconciliation process must be initiated, with appropriate representations from each of the recognized Organs and Forum in the Party, namely: 1. Forum of Founders/Elders 2. Board of Trustees 3. Current Governors Forum 4. National Assembly Caucus 5. Former Governors Forum 6. Former Ministers’ Forum 7. Former National Assembly Members 8. Current State Chairman Forum 9. Zonal Committees 10. Former Deputy Governors Forum 11. Former State Speakers / State Assembly Members 12. Women’s Wing 13. Youth Wing 14. Former National Officers Forum 15. Former Ambassadors / Board Chairmen A meeting, with representations of a minimum of six (6) and maximum of twelve (12) from each of the above listed organs should immediately be convened, and to be presided by a distinguished Elder Statesman from the PDP. And any decision taken at such meeting should be final and binding on all members of the Party. Subsequently, legal experts should be engaged from each side to facilitate the execution of the decision.
