* Obiano 
Information coming from Abuja reveals that Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano is on the verge of losing the ticket of APGA, the party on whose flag he rode to power. The party has been buffetted by intra-party crisis and court cases. The current National Chairman of the party, Martin Agbaso does not seem inclined to do business with Gov. Obiano. Sources close to the Anambra Government House says the governor  has since relocated to Abuja where he has intensified his lobbying to join APC.

 sources within the APC leadership rveals tha Gov Obiano was moving from one APC leader to another begging to be admitted into the party with assurances that he should also be allowed to fly the party's ticket in the November, 2017  election.

 Presently, Obiano whose naivety in politics led to APGA leadership crisis appears completely stranded as his attempts to unseat Agbaso as the National Chairman of APGA have all failed.

 Despite all his measures to seize the party structure from former National Chairmam, Chief Victor Umeh by expelling his loyalties in NWC, the leadership slipped away from him when Martin Agbaso was drafted into the battle by the supposed expelled members.

 Signs that Obiano is politically naive became obvious when Ozo Victor Oye  believed to be very loyal to Obiano emerged as National Chairman. In a palace coup of sorts, Oye was shown the way out by his colleagues in a meeting convened by Oye himself on October 5, 2016.

 With Oye's suspension, the late Ozo Okpochengene emerged the acting national chairman while Agbaso was appointed the deputy National chairman South.

 However,  sudden death of Ozo Okpochengene became a serious set back to their camp and that made Obiano camp to believe that the storm was over. They celebrated the long adjournment of the case instituted by the late Ozo Okpochengene to December 14, 2016. The camp of Obiano called it a tactical adjournment.
They were celebrating the long adjournment while Agbaso camp approached an Enugu high court, obtained an order of mandamus compelling INEC and Police to recognise Agbaso and not any other person as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.

 All attempts to vacate the order remained impossible as the two high court judges who were assigned the vacation file by police alleged undue pressures from various quarters and declined from entertaining the matter. The casefile is currently lying on the shelve of the Enugu State chief judge. It seems no judge wants to get himself involved further in APGA judicial rascality any longer.

 APGA has been in court since December 2004, 13 years of litigation, fighting over the chairmanship position of the party.

 With the firm hold of the party chairmanship by Agbaso, Obiano seems to have vowed never to reconcile or seek alternative dispute resolution with him.

 Their plot to use an Aguleri judge and obtain a fraudulent judgement in the state high court leaked to the press and  at Nnewi  the judge failed to  show up.

 With all these failed intrigues and the inability of Obiano to  work with Agbaso camp, he has been at Abuja loitering from one politician to another begging for APC ticket.
But it is late. APC constitution states that whoever would contest election in the party must have been a member of the APC for at least a year except on a special waiver.

 Obiano is not qualified for APC waiver. A governor who destabilized his party, created crisis here and there, failed in governance, refused to obey court order and recognise Agbaso as his party's national chairman may not be favoured for such  waiver.

 it had earlier been reported that the LG TC chairmen in the state met at Millicent Hotel Nobi where they agreed to encourage Obiano to leave APGA for Agbaso and join another party claiming that they are capable to deliver him in another party.

 However, in a related develpoment, Obiano, has denied rumours making the rounds in the social media that he has dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for a yet to be named political party, describing it as falsehood.

 This was contained in a press release early Friday morning, debunking report that an all night meeting held by the 21 local government area Transition Committee chairmen at his instance had ended with an advice for him to exit APGA following the order of mandamus issued by an Enugu High court sacking Chief Victor Oye for Chief Martin Agbaso as national chairman of the party.

 The release which was signed by Prince Oliver Okpala, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communications said there was no truth in the rumour, ascribing it to the opposition, who he said were eager to distract the governor from the good work he is doing in the state.

 Okpala said, “I hereby state for proper public enlightenment and information that Governor Willie Obiano remains a strong card carrying member of APGA and also still remains the chairman of the Party’s Board of Trustees and Leader of the Party .”

 He continued that the governor has never contemplated dumping APGA for any other party, and still stands on his unshakable desire and commitment of seeking re-election as Governor under the platform of his party, APGA.
