* Umunna
Chuka  Umunna, (Chukwuka - God is greater) was born October 17, 1978 in London, Greater London. He describes himself as a: '' half Nigerian, quarter Irish, quarter English, My father was a rags-to-riches businessman who came over (To England) in the Sixties with no money. On my mother’s side, I am the grandson of a High Court judge and celebrated intelligence officer, so it’s quite an unusual combination.”

Chuka's father, Osita Bennet Umunna, from Ugbunka, Anambra State  was a successful businessman and Director of Crystal Palace Football club. He died at age 58, in a mysterious road accident in 1992 after an unsuccessful attempt to run  for Anambra State governorship during the Babangida transition.

Bennett Umunna arrived Liverpool,  England with very little in the 1960s, aged 33. He studied business administration at night school while taking jobs such as cleaning cars before starting a successful business importing and exporting between Europe and west Africa.

In 1976, he married Patricia Milmo; Chuka was born two years later.

His mother Patricia M. Milmo is  a solicitor from a long line of distinguished lawyers.His grandfather on his mother’s side was Sir Helenus Milmo QC, one of the most distinguished lawyers of his day – a wartime intelligence officer, prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials and former High Court judge. Chuka’s uncle, Patrick Milmo QC, is one of the leading libel lawyers of his generation.

Umunna  was educated at Hitherfield Primary School in Streatham, South London, and the Christ Church Primary School in Brixton Hill. He says his parents felt that the local state school had "given up on him" and as a result had moved him to the boys' independent senior school St Dunstan's College, in Catford in south-east London, where he played the cello.

 During this period he was also a chorister at Southwark Cathedral. He was awarded an upper second class LLB in English and French Law from the University of Manchester; after graduating he studied for one term at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, before studying for an MA at Nottingham Trent.

He has said that his politics and moral values come from Christianity, but that he is "not majorly religious"

Umunna  remains one of the leading figures in the Remain in UK campaign and has adopted a more pro-European position than Labour nationally. He unambiguously advocates continued UK membership of the single market and customs union.

He was first elected to represent Streatham in 2010, and was re-elected in 2015.

Umunna  is married to Alice Sullivan and they have a daughter
