The Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State Thursday revealled that out of the 3,741 graduands of the 2016/2017 academic session, it will graduate 62 as first class.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala,  at a press conference  on the occasion of the 27th convocation ceremony of the school noted that  in the last set, 34 first class was recorded.

According to him,  “a total of 3,096 graduands will receive First degrees, while 426 will be awarded Masters Degrees, 46 others wil bag PhDs and another 173 to be awarded postgraduate diplomas.

“Of the first degree category, which is classified, 62 are First class, 1,006 in Second class upper division, 1,526 in Second class lower division, 468 in Third class, while 34 are with Pass degrees.”

Bala further stated that the graduating number is an improvement over last year's figures of 549 and 70 respectively in the latter two categories.
