  * Redeploy a Four Others For Sundry Offences

Ahead of 2019 stability, the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has relieved off two commissioner’s appointment over alleged incompetence and maladministration, while four others were redeployed for sundry offences.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Festus Ovie Agas, a copy made available to our reporter, stated that the affected commissioners; Dr. Nicholas Azinge, (Health), and Mr. Dan Okenyi (culture and tourism) were sacked for alleged incompetence and maladministration, adding that the four others; Asupa Fortete, (Directorate of Youth Development) was moved to urban renewal, while Karo Illolo redeployed to Directorate of Youth Development.
As for Bright Edejero, Former Commissioner Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, was moved to ministry of Science and Technology to Local Government Affairs.
Sources within the corridor of Government, strongly indicated that Dr. Azinge had alleged been sighted in the “bad book” of Dr. Okowa after he was said to have made his ambition to contest Oshimili South Constituency at the State House of Assembly come 2019 known.
As it was believed that the centre cannot hold when things fell apart, Governor Okowa’s anger was allegedly stemmed from the fact that Dr. Azinge failed to heed to his warnings that there was no vacancy at the constituency.
But of his aides who did not want his name in the print, dispelled as untrue, adding that it was the usual re-shufflement of a state cabinet. Since the release of the sacked, and redeployed commissioners, there has been palpable tension in Asaba over its affected son, Dr. Nicholas Azinge who some Asaba indigenes described was humiliated by the governor.
It was however gathered that the last Exco Meeting, Dr. Okowa was said to have shared was interest to reshuffle his cabinet; a situation that was greeted in serious apprehension.
As for Dan Okenyi, it was said to be the last straw that had broken the camel’s back considering his alleged involvement in the forgery of the governor’s signature sometimes ago.
Those in the know said Okenyi a native of Okunzu community in Aniocha North Local Government of the state since he was appointed a commissioner for lands, survey before his redeployment to Art, Culture and Tourism Ministry, was allegedly known to be “tortoise” often found in stories and had refused to learn his lessons.
