The All Progressive Congress, APC, Plateau State chapter has described as false the claims by the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung that he was a founding member of the party.
in the contrary, the state chairman, Latep Dabang said it was not in doubt that he once served as a caretaker committee chairman in Langtang South local government area of the state during the immediate past administration of Jonah Jang.
Speaking during a phone in programme, "Viewpoint" aired by Rythym FM in Jos, the state capital, Dabang said the minister's recent allegations against the Lalong led administration was nothing short of the fact to incite the people against the government.
For the embarrassment his outbursts has caused, the state party has reported the minister to President Mohammadu Buhari through its national headquarters to call him to order, if he refuses to do the needful, resign, even as he hinted the state cannot impress on him to do so.
Dalung "was not even part of the founders of the APC as he claimed because he was PDP. APC founders are drawn from ACN, CPC and ANPP and a faction of APGA and DPP. But we are not saying we don't want him in the APC", Dabang enthused.
The APC chairman further denied any friction within the party in the state, adding that the APC was fully united, as "we do not have any problem".
It was recalled that the minister, had during the recent state visit to Plateau by President Buhari, made some very weighty allegations against the governor bothering on loans and monies that are yet to be properly unaccounted for, an outburst considered to be in bad light especially belng a beneficiary of the APC.
Among his misgivings are his perceived non invitation by the governor during the presidential visit, which the party chairman stressed were unbecoming of a cabinet member from the state which he does not require any such invitation.
The Minister who took to his Facebook page to criticise the Plateau State governor and described the naming of a road after Buhari during the visit as a disaster because it was borne out of desperation by the governor to secure a second term in 2019.
