 About 13 senior citizens in Zamfara state has begun moves towards  ensuring that both the executive and legislative councils in state give way for credible leadership because they have failed the electorates. 

 Confirming this in a BBC Hausa service Monday morning, Senator Saidu Dansaudo said this has become necessary because of the killings that have been witnessed in the state in recent times. 

 According to him, the 13 of them had written and gave the governor, Abdullaziz Yari an ultimatum to resign for his inability to contain the killings and he has not done so with the expiration of the ultimatum, what is left now,  he added,  is to ask the state lawmakers to resign including the governor because they also failed in their duty to impeach him. 

  He added that the order the governor gave security organs to shoot anyone with arms that is not ready to surrender such cannot be effective since the Governor has made it a habit to aboundon the state at the  slightest opportunity. 

 He also blamed the President for not declaring a state of emergency in Zamfara state, unlike former president Olusegun Obasanjo who did that in Plateau state,  as that would have been the appropriate thing to do.
