SDP Dumps Duke, Embraces Buhari

By Tony Icheku

Nine days to the February 16, Presidential election, the  Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dumped its presidential candidate, Mr Donald Duke and embraced President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC.

The  SDP  says  it decided to exit the presidential election due to the lingering legal battle between  Duke, the winner of the SDP presidential primaries and his major challenger, a former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana.

The party further proffered that the inability of the party to present and campaign for a presidential candidate with only nine days to the presidential election, plus the  pending appeal on the SDP presidential ticket before the Supreme Court, filed by Professor Gana,  the presidential aspiration of the party  can best be described as a mission impossible.
