The shape of the future global order, security and development are central themes of this year’s Rhodes Forum, which continues its established focus on African and global development. Each year’s Rhodes Forum is expected to make a substantive contribution to current debates around Africa’s future as a pillar of the global order and driver of economic growth.
President of Niger H.E. Mahamadou Issoufou will be a keynote speaker of this year’s Rhodes Forum, the DOC’s flagship global affairs conference. Since 2003 the Rhodes Forum brings together senior leaders from the business, academic, diplomatic and political communities, including current and former heads of states and government, to discuss most pressing global challenges.
This year’s forum is organized around three areas of critical global importance and aims to facilitate a better understanding of the deep changes our societies are undergoing. The forum will therefore shed light on initiatives that contribute substantially towards sustainable economic development, propose new concepts for the architecture of international governance in the context of shifts in power within the global economy, and examine the restoration of civility and promotion of ethical standards in the digital age
