A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP stalwart, Chief Chukwuemeka Nwokeke, (Iroko) Friday took the Imo Elders Council to the cleaners for making what he described as 'idle threats', and exposing themselves as old ' guymen' and 'efulefu' bootlickers
" Who are these so-called Imo Elders?", Nwokeke, Director-General of Imo Peoples Liberation Movement queried during a press briefing in Owerri.
" What gives them the audacity to imagine they can embargo freedom of expression in Imo state?, he further probed, expressing disgust over the action of the Elders Council led by Dr Edmond J K Onyebuchi which recently called a press conference to warn Imolites to to calling Gov Hope Uzodinma a 'Supreme Court' governor
"They want us to stop calling Senator Hope Uzodinma a 'Supreme Court Governor. But do they have the powers to make us think and talk according to their whims and caprices? I dare say they could have done worse if they could
"I wish to use this opportunity to reassure them that the appellation, "Supreme Court Governor" is indeed appropriate for Sen Hope Uzodinma.
Being hailed as ' Supreme Court' governor is the prize Governor Uzodinma has to pay for hurting, subverting and short-changing Ndi-Imo politically'
Nwokeke explained that calling of Governor Uzodinma a "Supreme Court Governor graphically illustrates the dubious means through which he came to power, which many will never forget in a hurry.
He maintained that for a faceless group to be warning people during a press conference and threatening to tackle any individual or group over an acronym is the height of 'iberiberism' stretched to far.
"Such outburst is unwarranted and uncalled for, especially at this particular time. It is an assault on the collective intelligence of our people who prefers to use that to register their unalloyed rejection of Governor Uzodinma and his style of politics.
"Dr Edmond J K Onyebuchi and his cohorts are indeed idle old "guymen", and their outburst of political is typical of "efulefu" bootlickers and unwholesome charlatans looking for easy money and seeking notice from Uzodinma regime", the PDP stalwart affirmed
Nwokeke queried the audacity of the group, and wondered why such a faceless group with no known address would shamefully masquerade and threaten hell and brimstone just to curry favour and draw unnecessay attention when majority of Imo people are angry over the evil perpetuated by the Supreme Court, coupled with the failure of Governor Uzodinma in providing good governance and dividendend of democracy to the people. He wondered why the group are comfortable with evil, but failed to speak for Imo civil servants and pensioners who are suffering as a result of three months salary owed to them during this period the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown is enforced.
The group further nudged the governor who claimed to have saved N2billion monthly from ghost workers from the state treasury, to pay workers and pensioners their three months salary arrears.
