"Sooner than expected, justice will come to those Mr Raphael Uwazuruike swindled of their properties and he will be forced to forfeit same"' says human rights activist and Board of Trustees, BOT member of Human Rights Monitors International, Prince Papa Sigas Tuesday during an interactive session with journalists in Port Harcourt.
" Uwazurike, the self acclaimed leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Biafra, (MASSOB) must prepare his mind to return properties he illegally acquired from people in Owerri Imo State.=he
During an interactive session with journalists in Port Harcourt, Papa Sigas narrated how Uwazurike in 2014 forcefully dispossesed families of vast plots land and erected a mansion on it.
According to him, he believes those who suffered from Uwazuruike's high-handedness and intimidation will soon heave a sigh of relief as a particular family who have been in court with the embattled MASSOB leader over the land are bent on pushing their case to Court of Appeal and even the Supreme Court, till they get justice
The business mogul lamented that even though, it has been a case of justice delayed as the Federal High Court, Owerri is yet to rule on the matter brought before it by the late Bob Iwe Family against Uwazuruike's ruthless atrocities, he affirmed that justice will surely be done on the matter as life is a case of "Everyday might be for the thief, but one day for the owner of the house.
"There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel for the Iwe family members as they are ready to head Court Of Appeal, Port Harcourt Rivers State, if they failed to get justice in the lower court.
He hinted that the Iwe family may have appealed to some international human rights bodies to assist them in getting justice in the violation of their rights.
It will be recalled that Uwazurike was charged before the Federal High Court, Owerri and accused of illegally and forcefully acquiring properties of late Iwe in Owerri to build his living residential mansion and a project he tagged 'Ojukwu Library'
The case, suit no. HOW/512/2014 which is at the Federal High Court Owerri had been delayed since 2014 based on the exemption provisions contained in the court proceedings which has forced the plaintiff to appeal to the higher court for justice.
At the interactive session, Papa Sigas renewed his attacks on Uwazuruike, whom he recently called out for attacking Governor Nyesom Wike after a hotel was demolished for disobeying the lockdown order of the Rivers State government.
He maintained that Uwazurike is a "nuisance, a social misfit, agent of darkness, that deserves to declared a Persona-non-grata in Nigeria.", and urged him to tender public apologies to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike for the verbal assault he unleashed on him over the hotel demolition.
