A Social Political Group, Edo Political Parties Support Group, ( EPPSG), has called on all political parties involve in the forthcoming governorship election in the state on September 19 2020, to abide by the rules of the game.

The group at an enlarged meeting  said, they are worried that election that is still a month a way has started to generate hostility among the two major political parties in the election.

Recall that APC and PDP party members clash some days ago within the ring road area.

In a communique, signed by Roy Oribhabor, convener of the meeting and comrade Amafe Jessica said,  EPPSG comprises of supporters from all the parties with different political affiliations, thinking and orientation.

Oribhabor called on Edo people to uphold the spirit of oneness to further promote peace before,during and after election.

He said, " to achieve peaceful election in Edo state comes Sept 19,2020 we have decided to write to the candidate of APC, Pastor Dr, Osagie Ize- Iyamu and the candidate of PDP Mr. Godwin Obaseki to apply for courtesy visit to enable us discuss and evaluate the potential that can undermine peaceful election and formulate workable directions accordingly."


"We hereby appeal to them to grant the request on time since the election is fast approaching. The opportunity will avail us chance to interface and also, make a statement to their supporters to eschew violence and unholy tendencies that can undermine peaceful election in Edo state".

According to them, "as supporters of different political parties and candidates it's our duty to preach peace because we are first Edo people before election,  we remain Edo people after election."
