The Igbo Community in Edo State have declared support for Governor Godwin Obaseki' s second term ambition and the PDP expressing fears that the state will go back to the "hands of thugs, brutal tax collectors and servicing of God fathers at the detriment of development and ease of doing business", if he is not supported to return for a second term
The Leader of the Women Wing of the Community, Mrs Blessing Ahoruonye who led a contigent of Women to the State PDP Secretariat told the PDP State Women leader, Mrs Lindsay Sorea that the Igbo Community in Edo is against the return of the state to APC, a party immersed in corruption citing recent NDDC and EFCC revealation and allegations amongst others
According to Mrs Ahoruonye they were declaring support for and mobilising others to join the PDP to enable them give maximum support to Governor Godwin Obaseki in appreciation of the excellent work he is doing.
She stressed that Gov Obaseki's ability to eliminate double and over taxation which reigned in the previous APC government have improved the economy of local traders.
She also mentioned the impressive developmental stride been witnessed in the state as well as the economic expansion that has positively influenced the rate of consumption and his prudent management of resources.
She expressed fears that if Governor Obaseki's administration is disrupted, " God forbid" they believe that the state will go back to the "hands of thugs, brutal tax collectors and servicing of God fathers at the detriment of development and ease of doing business."
She affirmed that they have vowed to vote for PDP and Governor Obaseki to ensure that the train is not derailed.
According to her, " we the Igbo Community in Edo state have realized our past mistakes and we are fully ready to correct it this time by voting PDP"
