Police Operatives in Niger State have arrested  four suspects in Gurara Local Government of the the state for stealing and  attempting to sell truck belonging to Dangote company .

The suspects, Saidu Ayaba, Habibu Isah, Mudashiru Dahiru and Abdullahi Mohammed were apprehended  by the operatives attached to Gawu Babangida Division following a tip off .

It was learnt that one of the suspects, Ayaba, a  driver attached to Dangote Portland Cement Company was seen with Dangote trailer truck at Dikko junction, Gurara attempting to sell the truck.

Our correspondent gathered that Ayaba was entrusted with 900 bags of cement to be delivered at Depot 3, Kano State and on the process, he conspired with  three other suspects to steal the truck by  disconnect the tracking device in the truck so that they would succeed in nefarious act .

Further checks revealed that Isah and  Dahiru aided in diverting and sold the cement to one Aminu of Tsafe, Zamfara State, at the rate of N2,160,000.00k

One of the suspects, Dahiru told our correspondent that he belonged to gang that disconnect tracking devices of all types of trucks to enable them to sell it at a give away price before the owners will find out.

"We have the tools to disconnect any tracking devices installed in any vehicle, we deal with big companies vehicles and their drivers are our informants ,in fact most at times they tell us the location of the vehicles to enable us achieve our mission, " he explained.

According to him,  "I have been in this business for over five years  and the business has come to an end the very day I found myself in a police net, I am ruined", he lamented.

The Police Public Relations Officer,  Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects confess to the crime.

Abiodun  said that the operatives recovered from them, a trailer and 754 bags of cement, adding that the matter would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
