..Abuja show class in AGM/Christmas party
The Abuja chapter of Immaculate Hearts Girls Secondary School Alumni Association says its commitment towards development of their alma mater and ensuring quality education for students of Immaculate Hearts College remains resolute and progressive.
"We are not compromising or backing down on our commitment towards development and ensuring quality education for the students of our old school", says Mrs Chioma Brown Okafor, President of IMMAHACO, Abuja chapter during its 2020 Annual General Meeting which doubled as its Christmas party
She stressed that the alumni would provide study materials especially in Mathematics to enable Immaculate Heart Girls excel in the compulsory subject.
Mrs Brown Okafor who was flanked by other members of the alumni Executives reiterate the importance of family on the special day celebration.
"It is heartwarming to note that we still have something to celebrate despite Covid-19 pandemic which is affecting our nation in all areas of life: economically , socially and financially"
She expressed appreciation to God, noting that year has been a wonderful one for member all with no life loss of life in the association. She urged members to push on in unity, love, teamwork, and being worthy ambassadors of their old school.
The Secretary of the Chapter, Mrs Chinwe Madubuike described the year as one that brought sad events, pointing to the covid-19 pandemic which added the phrase the 'new normal' to World vocabulary.
Mrs Madubuike applauded both the chapter for the special occasion and members who turned out in their numbers to merry. She further prayed for early end to the second wave of covid-19 and for businesses to pick up again
“God’s willing, Immahaco shall commence her quarterly meeting by March 2021in which much more shall be achieved", the secretary predicted.
Other Exco members who shared their thoughts during the occasion include the Public Relations Officer, PRO Ihuoma Nwadioha, and Welfate Officer, Mrs Pat Ofik.
"God Almighty has done great things in our midst from January to December, and our alumni have been awesome", says Ihuoma Nwadioha.
" The Exco applauds all members who believe in the dream of this alumni and are working to take it to greater, lofty heights through Teamwork and Team-spirits.
"It has been a splendid year despite covid-19 pandemic. We came out strong . We thank God for his steadfastness and mercies upon us , our families and our loved ones", she affirmed
She had special words for the alumni's President and Vice-President, Mrs Chioma Brown Okafor and Mrs Ijeoma Okonkwo respectively, describing them as women of great passion, tenacity and leadership par excellence
