Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state Tuesday approved that curfew imposed on the State capital, Umuahia, and the commercial city, Aba should hencefort begin from 8pm to 6am

Two other towns, Ohafia and Arochukwu also came under the curfew clampdown

In a terse statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr  A.C.B Agbazuere, the governor's approval was consequent upon the decision of Abia State Security Council following its  meeting of 6th April, 2021.

"All citizens are advised to strictly comply to avoid collateral consequences as security agencies are already on alert to ensure airtight enforcement of the curfew", the statement counseled.
