The Ukwa la Ngwa Council of Elders Wednesday convened at Aba Town in continuation of it's sensitisation and mobilisation that come 2023, the 3 Ngwa LGAs (Umunneato Ngwa) in Abia Central Senatorial District must produce the next governor for Abia state.

"We, Umunneato Ngwa stand on equity, justice and fairness to demand our right to produce the next governor of Abia state, come 2023", says Dr Max Nduaguibe, Leader of the Council.

Dr Nduaguibe contends that if the 3 LGAs on the Bende side of Abia Central were allowed to produce the governor, there is no justification to deny the Umunneato Ngwa of the same opportunity.

"It is our legitimate and cherished desire which cannot be wished away or killed by force of law", Nduaguibe argued.

He added that Ukwa la Ngwa Elders assures Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of their total and unalloyed support. "Our commitment to upholding the goals of his administration and our absolute loyalty to abide with him in fait is total", he affirms.

According to Dr Nduaguibe, the Elders Council have no sympathy for any particular political party, "We give no premium to any particular political party.

"What we advise every political party in Abia State is this: present us a candidate from Umunneato Ngwa of Abia Central for our adoption and leave the rest to us. The sleeping stupid majority is awake", he declared.

He warned those who may attempt to betray the agitation to desist as they may not find the repercussions palatable.

The meeting was attended by who is who in Aba South LGA including the Executive Chairman of the LGA represented by  Chief Simon Emeh, his Chief of Staff.
