Eze Chikamnayo

It was an embarassing moment for Eze Chikamnayo as his bullying and brash tactics failed him on live radio Monday， November 1, 2021.

Minutes after he vowed to be unconventional and brash in his job as Abia State Commissioner for Information, Hon Chikamnayo suffered considerable loss of face as he was politely eased off a live radio programme for running foul of broadcasting ethics

The Commissioner who appeared Monday, November 1, 2021  on the live programme 'Open Parliament' on Family Love  99.90 FM in his responses to questions from the Anchor resorted to half-truths, twisting of facts and use of abusive words on critics of Abia Government.

When a caller urged him to moderate his choice of words as he is a public officer, pointing out to him that his use of the word: 'charlatans' on radio was harsh and uncalled for, Mr Chikamnayo boasted that he would do worse as he would readily square off with those whom he described as 'demarketing Abia'. Anyone who abuses Abia Government, I would abuse their family, in return， he threatened.

He subsequently  followed up on his threats by referring to Hon Obinna Ichita, a member of Abia State House of Assembly, and its Minority Leader as a 'charlatan' At this point, the Anchor drew the line: "Hon Commissioner sir, please withdraw the words you just used on Hon Ichita" 

Here, the Commissioner  failed to read the hand writing on the wall. Indeed, he literally danced naked in public as his attempts to brow beat, bully the Anchor or evade responsibility for running foul of broadcasting code failed totally.

The Anchor remained cool, polite and professional throughout the encounter, and to avoid further waste of time took a commercial break， and when the programme returned， Mr Chikamnayo finally admitted wrong doing in his choice of words in addressing Ichita and  proceeded to ’modify’ same. 

”Thank you， Hon Commissioner”， the Anchor replied coolly and smoothly rolled the programme to conclusion.
