Abia State Commissioner for Inter-Governmental Affairs， Prince Obinna Okey Tuesday urged the Abia State Commissioner for Police， Mrs Janet Agbede to expedite action on the re-opening of Ikwuano LG Divsional Police Post and several other police posts closed down due to insecurity challenges 

Prince Okey who paid a courtesy visit to the Police boss at the Abia state Police Command headquarters explained that for Ikwuano LG which is  a boundary community and other such boundary areas，the presence of a Police  Post is a necessity to supplement the efforts of other security agencies in safe guarding the State and consolidating  the security architecture put in place by Abia state Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

“Let me assure the Police Commissioner that  our governor， Dr Okezie  Ikpeazu understands and appreciates the efforts of the Police in maintaining law and order in the State and the Country at large

”It is in that regards that he mobilises available resources to support the State Police Command， and I stand to be corrected， our Governor has been outstanding so far in supporting the Police in the State

“I wish to appeal to the Police Commissioner to spare no efforts towards reopening the post post in Ikwuano and other places that were shut down due to insecurity challenges recently. As a boundary community， the necessity  of a police post in Ikwuanocannot be over-emphasised.”, Prince Okey said 

In her response， the Police Commissioner applauded the Commissioner for showing keen interest in the work of the Police and security issues. She assured him that the Ikwuano police post is currently undergoing renovation and would be reopened as soon as the renovation is completed. The police boss also commended Gov Ikpeazu for supporting the police with necessary resources.
