Former chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Chief K C Ugboaja, Monday announced his aspirations to contest for Abia Central Senatorial district seat, promising to deliver to the people what rightfully belongs to them
Chief Ugboaja, a chieftain of the APC made the declaration at his Ariam-Usaka country home in Ikwuano LGA. The event was witnessed by LG Executives of the APC from the six LGAs that make up the Senatorial district
"As a Senator, I will have no reason to disappoint you...its in my nature to empower people. I have the capacity to deliver", he maintained, and added that several years after serving as LG his legacies are still visible for all to see and those empowered during his administration still have testimonies to share, "politics is not a grandstanding game - show what you did in office, for me Ikwuano people can still point to what KC did as chairman", he said.
The APC stalwart who said he was called to the bar 37 years ago, said stepping to the Senate will be a familiar turf for him and he will focus on legislations that would enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of the people and create a better society where accountability, transparency and good governance is the norm.
Speaking of the state of APC in Abia, Ugboaja declared that the Hon Obioma Acho-led State Executive is the authentic chapter of the party in the State and declared that Abia is up for grabs: "APC wants to win Abia governorship and we are going to win, once our governorship candidate emerges, a candidate with capacity. credibility and popularity, the governorship will be in APC's kitty"
