Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo has persisted with his demand for closure on Monday's sit-at-home ordered by IPOB across the five South East, SE states.

Gov Soludo who vowed to end the sit-at-home order in Anambra has embarked on extensive dialogue with stakeholders to achieve this objective.

Speaking at a Peace Building and Security dialogue with stakeholders in Awka, Anambra state, which has in attendance traditional rulers and clerics from across the SE, Gov Soludo again reiterated his appeal for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB. The governor argued that the prompt release of Nnamdi Kanu would douse the outbreak of insecurity in the SE.

He, thus, urged the Federal Government of Nigeria  to accelerate the unconditional release of MNK so as to restore peace and tranquility in the area, while pointing out that “justice delayed is justice denied”.

Soludo assured that he would lead his counterparts in the South-East to engage the Federal Government in dialogue on how to handle the insecurity situation in the region.

He further urged  all genuine agitators to drop their arms and leave the forest while warning criminal elements taking advantage of the situation to withdraw or face the full force of the law.
