Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe was Wednesday  urged  to jettison his governorship ambition and support the aspirations of  Umunneato Ngwa to produce Abia's next governor  come 2023.

Rising from a meeting held at the residence of its President Comrade Ugochukwu Njoku, the group under the aegis of Isiala Ngwa Progressive Front appealed to the Senate Minority leader to please join his brothers in Isiala Ngwa North to realize their age-long ambition of producing  the Governor of Abia State.

They reminded the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District  and governorship hopeful under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP that Ndi Isiala Ngwa have always been at the forefront in support of his (Abaribe)’s political projects

They cited instances including the period Abaribe as deputy governor was facing persecution from the former governor of  Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. They reminded him that  Isiala Ngwa people stood by him leading to the then Speaker Hon. Christopher Enwerenmadu, loosing his seat as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and also leading to  the death of some of their brothers, while  others were maimed.

The group further recalled  how  they repeated same feat in 2003 elections with the mantra of “Otu Onu”, which they said made some notable Ngwa sons and daughters to lose their positions in the then government.

The group maintained  that Sen Abaribe as a stakeholder in Abia politics is expected to be at the forefront of supporting their ambition and desire of becoming the governor in 2023.

The group argued that history and posterity will judge him fairly for making such sacrifice and reciprocating what they have done for him in the past and even in the present as the people of Isiala Ngwa have resoundingly supported Governor Ikpeazu , his Obingwa brother, for the past seven years of his leadership.

They urged him, therefore , to consider all the sacrifices made by the people of Isiala Ngwa and thus exhibit spirit of sportsmanship by supporting the interest of the people of Isiala Ngwa, under the old Aba zone mandate , by leading from the front.

They pleaded with the Senator   to ignore those spurring him to continue in his ambition of becoming Abia Governor at this time his brothers who have always stood by him are desirous of occupying  same seat as such people do not mean well for the Ngwa nation.
