It was widespread jubilation as APC chieftain often hailed as the Strongman of Ikwuano politics, Chief KC Ugboaja bought the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for Abia Central Senatorial district seat over the weekend.

Ugboaja,  legal practitioner with over 37 years post call experience, he had served  two-term Executive Chairman of Ikwuano LGA from 1999-2006; He later served as Commissioner fo Works; And  Land.

Chief Ugboaja  would be making a second attempt for the Senate, a seat he initially ran for in 2011.

He is a foundation member of Abia APC, and  also ran for the House of Representatives in 2015

He is currently a member of Board,  Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.

He is also the facilitator of the mult-million naira NALDA Farm project at Ariam- Usaka in Ikwuano LGA.

Ugboaja is highly  regarded in Abia Central as a grassroots mobiliser, pragmatic administrator, and tactician and his entry into the Senate race had been described as a significant leap forward for the APC as his widespread support base gives the APC  an edge in the Senate race
