The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency and Abia Central Senatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress(APC), Rep. Sam Onuigbo and his team, on Tuesday, 24th May, 2022, concluded their consultation tour across the six Local Government Areas (LGAs)of Abia Central Senatorial Zone, where he met with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) family.
Rep. Onuigbo and his team kickstarted the tour from Ikwuano Local Government Area on the 19th of May, 2022, before moving to Umuahia North/South and Umuneato (Isialangwa North/South and Osisioma Ngwa) Local Government Areas of the senatorial zone.
Ikwuano LGA was delighted to host Rep. Sam Onuigbo and his entourage, and organised a heart-warming reception for him. Stating that “that which is worn on the wrist needs no mirror to be seen”, they declared that they were proud to have a worthy son in Rep. Onuigbo, whose work across the federal constituency he represents is glaring. Listing his achievements in the local government, which includes the ongoing reconstruction of the Umuahia/Ikwuano/Ikot-Ekpene Federal Road, pioneering the reinstatement of the delisted management courses at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, and so many capital and human development projects spread across the constituency, they promised him that their support for him is organic and cannot be bought.
Umuahia North/South could not hide their joy and goodwill, as they treated Rep. Sam Onuigbo to an enthusiastic welcome. They also, like their counterparts in Ikwuano, boasted of the impact of Rep. Onuigbo’s representation in their local governments, enumerating the building of a skills acquisition centre at Ubakala, the massive erosion control project done at Umuopara and so many other infrastructures too numerous to mention as having greatly impacted their lives, and given them a sense of belonging through Rep. Onuigbo’s representation at the National Assembly.
The reception at Umunneato (Isiala Ngwa North/South and Osisioma Ngwa) was affectionate and optimistic, which signified a full acceptance of Rep. Sam Onuigbo and all that he represents. They remarked that they have both seen and heard of Rep. Onuigbo’s antecedents and penchant for effective representation, and expressed hope that he would replicate his good works in the Umunneato part of Abia Central Senatorial Zone.
Rep. Sam Onuigbo thanked his hosts for their love and support, which prompted the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia to send him to the National Assembly a record two consecutive times, where he has worked to ensure that their voices are heard, thereby effectively redefining representation and earning their trust. He charged them to continue on their quest to seek for credible leaders who have the interest of the people at heart, and also warned them of the dangers of electing seasonal politicians who only come around when it is election season, have nothing to offer, and seek power for their selfish reasons. He reminded them that the office of the citizen is the most powerful office, and charged them to leverage this power with wisdom, for their benefit and that of future generations.
