Ahead 2023 governorship election, the Ngwa sub-nation finally proffered reasons why they must produce next Abia's governor, contending that the Abia North Senatorial district lacks the moral justification to demand that the governorship ticket be zoned to them. 

"Abia North only gave Ikpeazu less than 50% support in 2015 and 2019", says the Abia Mandate Group in a graphic post on the social media depicting how Abia North voted in the two elections.

In the post titled: 'If You Ask for Equity Come with Clean Hands' the Group stated that in 2025, only Ohafia LGA gave Ikpeazu winning votes of 23,678 as against APGA's 14,771. However, in overall votes from Abia North, the PDP trailed behind APGA's 56,037 votes with 42,111.

The maintained that again in 2019, Abia North's combined vote of 79,024 were shared between APGA and APC, while PDP got a miserly 42,249.

Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Abia Mandate Group's Coordinator and Secretary, Okey Onwuka and Esther Ukata respectively  hinted more reasons would be proffered why Abia must support the aspirations of the Ukwa-Ngwa or Old Aba to equally enjoy unbroken 16 years on the governorship seat as Old Bende comprising portions of Abia Central and Abia North did.
