Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has been listed by the APC as its candidate for Yobe North Senatorial District.

Lawan's name was listed in a document titled 'Senate Primary Election Reports Received and dated June 16, 2022' 


Others listed include Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam and Sen Mohammed Bomai respectively for Yobe East and Yobe South Senatorial districts.

Meanwhile, in a letter circulating on the social media,  Bashir Machina, who contested the primary and won the ticket for Yobe North has written to APC's National Chairman  in a letter dated, June 15, 2022 declaring he has not given up the ticket


 Lawan’s name has been  uploaded on INEC’s server by the ruling party alongside other senatorial candidates across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.

Lawan did not participate in the party’s Senate primary election,  Bashir Machina, who contested the primary  and won, has been contesting the party’s determination to steal his mandate and had vowed never to back down on his mandate.
