After a conflict-ridden primaries which split its house asunder,  Abia PDP's  State Working Committee, SWC  and enlarged State Executive Committee, SEC on Wednesday inaugurated a Reconciliation Committee and tasked its  members to quickly initiate a reconciliation process to reconcile aggrieved members with the Party and bring them into the “One Big Family” PDP is known for.  


Members of the 9-member Reconciliation Committee  headed by a  former State Party Chairman of the PDP,  Ndidi Okereke comprises elders and stalwarts of the party  who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavour  including:

Empire Kanu

Williams Onyema Agbai

Theo Nkire

 Emeka Stanley

Tony Ezebuiro 

Ike Onyenwaku

C. O Enweremadu and

Grace Agbara. 


The inauguration of the peace committee followed a meeting of all  Abia PDP's candidates for the various elective offices in the 2023 General Election which held at  the Party's  Secretariat, Finbars Road, Umuahia.  


The special meeting was  chaired by the State Party Chairman,  Alwell Asiforo Okere who  remarked that the PDP as a Party is in a better position to outshine its contemporaries given the number of years it has survived as a Party. 


Abia PDP governirship  candidate,  Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, who was represented by his running mate  Okey Igwe assured members of the SWC, SEC and other candidates  that he will soon unveil his programmes for Abia State


Igwe encouraged all the flag bearers to work closely with the Party and not take the Party’s national outlook as a guarantee for victory. 


In a statement, the State Vice-Chairman and acting Publicity Secretary, Elder Amah Abraham stated that the  Party is assured that the Committee  will accomplish the task assigned to them.
