"Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men" Proverbs 22:19 NKJV
Dr Onyenucheya, (l) and Rt Hon Chinedum Orji |
By Chukwuemeka Onyenucheya
I am compelled, out love for our Federal Constituency, Ikwuano/ Umuahia North/ South to become an evangelist for good governance. And having scanned the profiles and interacted closely with hundreds of the aspirants seeking to represent us, I hereby announce we should search no more for that credible capable and capacity representative we should vote for in 2023 to represent us in the lower chamber in Abuja.
It is not in dispute that legislators are elected to make laws, but ever desirous of touching lives, the PDP candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji can so far boast of over 78 projects and empowerment programs centering on infrastructural and human capital development.
He is urrently the Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, the first House of Assembly in the Federation to pass the Diaspora Commission Law which attracted local and global accolades including an impressed Presidency.
As the numero uno of the Abia Assembly, Rt Chinedum Orji showed the stuff he is made of by ensuring that the House passed into law the financial autonomy bills for both the legislature and the judiciary to further deepen practice of democratic principles in the state.
These and many more of people-oriented Bills and Motions are reasons keen watchers of Abia politics christened the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, an "Assembly of Many Firsts".
In recognition of these feats and several others, Rt Hon Orji has received several certifications for his pragmatic leadership including an award as the winner of The Sun Newspaper Public Service Award 2020 at an epoch making event held on October 16, 2021.
Again on June 3, 2022 the Champion Newspapers conferred on him, 'Most Outstanding Speaker Of The Year Award' at an epic event held at the Expo Convention Centre of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Abia Speaker, fondly hailed 'Ikuku Oma Abia' had etched his finger prints virtually various sectors of the Abia economy. If the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia truly want quality representation beyond lawmaking, getting our PVCs ready to vote the endless achiever should be our best move.
Only the ignorant would compare an eagle to a chicken, thus Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Orji stands out from the crowd of candidates seeking to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South, it is for him a step up to higher and greater responsibilities, and I enjoin our people to get this message and vote Rt Hon Chinedum Orji to the green chamber for the good of our people.
