Peter Obi and Obi Aguocha |
The Labour Party candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia N/S Federal Constituency, Obi Aguocha is riding on high waves as goodwill from the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi powers his journey to the National Assembly, Abuja.
Indeed, Aguocha pro-people vision encapusulated in his 'Nke Ohuhu 2023' slogan is also attracting the attention of community and opinion leaders entranced by its simple message of brotherhood, equity and justice
The latest buy-in and support to Aguocha' s political vision is coming from Kelechi Apugo, the heir apparent to B B Apugo, Abia State's political stalwart who calls the political shots in Ibeku Egwu-Asa ancient Kingdom in the Federal Constituency.
Kelechi Apugo, the founder of Global Hopes for Sustainable Rights of the Less Privileged and Leader of Abia YES Movement while endorsing Aguocha as the right and proper candidate to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia explained that his endorsement is premised from conclusions reached in his overall assessment of the factors of equity, fairness and justice in the distribution of political offices in the Federal Constituency.
Additionally, he held that owing to the several decades of progressive and peaceful coexistence between Ndi Ohuhu and Ndi Ibeku, the bond of brotherhood speaks loud and clear that 2023 is Ohuhu's turn to occupy the Federal seat.
The younger Apugo buttressed his submission factually, pointing out that Hon Stanley Ohajuruka, went from Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly to House of Representatives; And current senator for Abia Central Senatorial District. T.A Orji, went from governorship to the Senate for two terms - both were from Ibeku - he noted.
He pleaded, politics aside, that the fraternal bond between Ibeku and Ohuhu makes it imperative that Ndi Ohuhu be allowed to have their turn in the seat of power, stressing that it is all in the interest of "... of fairplay, justice and equity...". He further maintained that Obi Aguocha having proved from his antecedents, his leadership capability and capacity must be supported by all the clans of the Constituency to represent Ikwuano-Umuahia N/S Federal Constituency at the National Assembly come 2023.
"...vote your conscience devoid of party sentiments and be obediently guided to the collective aspirations of Ndị Igbo, nay Nigeria, to usher in good governance and accelerated development of our Federal Constituency, our Senatorial district, Abia state and Nigeria", Apugo submitted.
