The Abia State gubernatorial candidate of Action Peoples Party, APP, Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu on Wednesday stormed Ikwuano LGA of the state, in the company of the party’s State House of Assembly candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, Hon.Wisdom E.C.Lan
Hon.Mascot Uzor Kalu, while at various wards stops in Oboro autonomous community told party supporters he was on continuation of his LGAs tour and verification of the party’s structures and formations within the 17 LGAs of Abia State.
The former chief of staff between 2007 to 2009, urged the people to support and voting massively for APP in the forthcoming general election describing his aspiration as divine. He added that the tour was to create awareness and restore the hope of the common man in the state.
"I am the most qualified to govern the state, with my experience garnered as the chief of staff to former governor of Abia State, Chief T A Orji, from 2007 to 2009, the position is the engine room of any administration. If elected governor of Abia State, my administration will design a robust roadmap or blueprint for good governance, which will encompass all sectors of the economy, ranging from health to agriculture, from massive road construction and rehabilitation to rural and urban development, from education to economic recovery and accountability, which is a yardstick for good governance and development, needed to drive the state to economic prosperity", he declared.
Kalu also promised to bring back free and compulsory primary and secondary education to the the people, prompt payment of salaries and gratuity, describing the civil service as the engine room of government, to build at least 20km of roads in each LGA, to build 5 standard health facilities in each LGA and develop a blueprint for the overall development of the State.
He appealed to the people to support his aspiration, affirming that he has the energy, capacity and proven integrity and competence needed to move the State forward.
In her reaction, Women Leader ,Pastor Mrs Mercy Wilson Alamba, assured the APP gubernatorial candidate tm that the women will come out enmass to support his administration and called for women inclusiveness in his government once elected as governor of the State.
She further urged the gubernatorial flagbearer to remain focused and be mindful of his promises as the election is drawing closer.
"...what you cannot do, don’t promise, but remain focused and pray for God to see you through to victory come 2023 General Election”, she submitted
