The Governor Nyesom Wike's led group pushing for the resignation of Senator Iyorchia Ayu as PDP's National Chairman, on Wednesday pulled out of the PDP's Presidential Campaign Council with a resolution to distance the group from the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign until Ayu steps down.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Olabode George said their resolution is for Ayu to step down for an acting National Chairman to lead the Atiku presidential campaign. "We resolved not to participate in the Campaigns Council until Ayu steps down". He added that Ayu's stay undermines the party's constitution.
