An Abuja-based civil society group on Friday applauded the Department of State  Services, DSS  for the recent arrest of Tukur Mamu, the media consultant to Sheik Gumi maintaining that Nigeria's collaborative efforts with her sister international security agencies is superb and commendable. 


The group,  Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice in a statement  signed by it's National Coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo  further commended the Director-General of the DSS,  Mr Yusuf Magaji Bichi noting that his sterling and transparent leadership of the agency has enabled it to be proactive and to record impressive feats in recent times.


 "DSS's successes have boosted intelligence gathering, greater synergy and collaboration with sister security agencies, all contributing to mitigate security threats against the Nigerian State", the CSO stated.


The group also saluted Nigeria's military, law enforcement, intelligence community and their foreign partners for their roles leading to the repatriation of  Tukur Mamu to answer critical questions relating to some recent security issues in the country


 The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice further urged  Nigerians to lend a helping hand to security agencies as they battle insecurity and other crimes bedevilling our country, stressing that security of our country should be everybody's business.
