The Abia State SDP Gubernatorial candidate, Apostle Dr Ngozika Johnson-Ogbuneke on Sunday declared that her mission in seeking to govern the State is to restore it's glory.
The SDP flag bearer, speaking at St Philips Church, Anglican Diocese of Nigeria, Ahaba-Oloko in Ikwuano LGA, likened Abia to the scenario in Isaiah 42:20-22, a people plundered and no one until now comes to say “restore”
She declared that her "... administration will transform Abia State in all areas of development - Infrastructure, Education, Good road network, Health and Healthcare, build Abia airport and create Abia Airways, increase capacity for employment and provide the enabling environment for Women and Youths to thrive, flourish and actualise their full potentials.
"I am asking the people of Abia State to give me only 24months to see a total transformation of our State, pointing us to a more progressive trajectory"
She further prayed God Elohim, to bless Abia more and let the people no longer be blind nor hard of hearing as in the Scriptures speaking about a people who were being “plundered” as for the past 31years, that God will help them vote in a godly leader.
She maintained that she had come to serve Ndi Abia and not to be the served, and affirmed that if she does not transform Abia State in 24 months, she would resign and call for a by-election.
She also argued that men have served for 31 years, and have done their best but in 2023 Abians should hear the voice of God in righteousness and vote for 'Ngozi Abia' as God created both males and females in His own image
In his sermon during the special church service being the occasion of it's 18th year anniversary, Bishop of the Diocese, Rt Rev U C Onyegbule urged the congregation to come higher in their worship of God through our Lord Jesus Christ by being bold, honest and faithful to their calling, both in church work, politics or any other civic duties.
He also prayed for Abia State, and for a violence free and fair election in Nigeria. He further prayed for the governorship candidates as well as the other candidates of various offices - that the perfect will of God be done in Abia State and for Nigeria.
The occasion was graced by and the gubernatorial candidate of the YPP, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor and SDP candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, Philip Daniel Iroegbulam.
The candidates pledged their supports to the Cathedral building still under construction.
