Condolence messages are still pouring in as Hon Chukwuemeka Osoagbaka, Chairman of Ahamefula Development Initiative Ikwuano, ADII buries his elder brother, a late Prince Obioma Uzoanaya Osoagbaka on Saturday, February 18, 2023.


Late Prince Obioma Osoagbaka,  former President-General of Ekpiri Ala-Ala, Ikwuano LGA passed  on to glory on  Tuesday, December 27, 2022  aged 60.


In a  release announcing the funeral rites, Chief Adolphus Okebugwu, on behalf of the family of HRH, (Prof) O. U. Osoagbaka of blessed memory, states that the funeral on Feb 18, would be preceded by a Service of Songs on Friday, Feb 17 at Methodist Church, Ekpiri Alala, Ikwuano LGA.


Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Hon Emeka Osoagbaka,  a former member of Abia State House of Assembly has been receiving condolences messages from friends and well wishers on behalf of the family 


Earlier, the  Executives and members of ADII had written to commensurate with their Chairman praying that he  bear with fortitude the loss of his brother, Prince Obioma whom the association noted was   "a gracious, caring and warm-hearted gentleman".


ADII urged the Osoagbaka family to take solace in the fact that Prince Obioma fondly hailed 'Ugwumba II' lived a worthy and impactful life.  


ADII urged the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a worthy and impactful life, as they prayed “May the God of all Comfort, Jehovah be with you and the Osoagbaka family and wipe away your tears, amen. Rev 12:4", the association prayed for the family.


 In his condolence message, the Deputy Governor of Abia State,  Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, amidst regrets, charged the Osoagbaka’s and the entire people of Ikwuano to take solace in God’s word.


The deputy Governor noted that Prince Obioma  lived a life worthy of emulation, adding, “even as he creditably served God and humanity with greet zeal  and commitment.


“As you commit his mortal remains to mother earth on Saturday Feb 18,  2023 at Ekpiri Alala Village in lkwuano LGA, I pray God to repose his soul in peace and give you all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”


Expressing shock over Prince Obioma's sudden death, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia N/S Federal Constituency and APC  candidate  for Abia Central Senatorial District, Rep. Sam Onuigbo waxed philosophical stating that his demise “is another reminder to us all that death, indeed, is a part of life, and not the opposition of it.


“Prince Obioma Osoagbaka was a devout Christian. He was an accomplished community leader, who served meritoriously as the President General of Ekpirl Ala-Ala Autonomous Community. He was equally an astute businessman – understanding time and season very weil, and using his disposition to serve humanity.”


Similarly, the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Henry  Ikoh, expressing   astonishment, described Prince Obioma as a man of the people with exemplary achievements.


Ikoh urged the deceased’s son, Chimeremeze Osoagbaka and the entire family to be consoled by the “impactful life which can be attested to by all.


“He inculcated the values of discipline, selfless service, leadership, good morals and community service, which remain a legacy built with stones that will stand the test of time. Words will never be enough at a time such as this. Please take heart and accept my deepest condolences”, he stated.


 Ikoh's predecessor,  Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, also sent his condolences describing the death of Prince Obioma at  60, as painful, inasmuch as it occurred in his prime.


He enjoined the Osoagbakas to take solace in God’s word, stressing that their late son, brother and father was a peaceful and charitable fellow, “a community leader, an entrepreneur of repute and a believer in human capital development whose imprints in the sands of time.


“Therefore, it is my fervent prayer that God consoles you and grants you the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, amen!”


Prince Obioma,  born on Jan 14, 1962,  attended Government College,  Umuahia and  Methodist College Uzuakoli where he obtained his West Africa Examination Certificate. He also studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka before venturing into business. 


He was later  elected the President General of Ekpiri Ala Ala Autonomous Community and had jus being  appointed a Senior Special Assistant to  Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State
