Abia State Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti has appointed two prominent Ikwuano sons, Dr Anyadiegwu Charles Uzondu and Barrister Chimeziem Nwazuoke and 73  other  prominent Abians as members of the Inauguration Committee for his swearing-in on May 29.


The 75-member committee which was inaugurated on Friday, April 21, 2023 is chaired by Hon Iheanacho Obioma, the State Campaign Coordinator of the Alex Otti Campaign Organisation.


The Inauguration Committee has eight sub-committees which include Finance, Programme, Venue, Logistics, Protocol, Security, Entertainment and Media & Publicity.


Otti, while inaugurating the members at the Banquet Hall of his residence in Umuehim, Nvosi, Isialangwa Local Government Area, urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by organising hitch-free, peaceful and befitting events.


In a Press Release, the Media Aide to Dr Alex Otti, Mr Kazie Uko stated that some  of the events proposed for the handing over ceremony include Interdenominational Christian Service, and Muslim Jumaat


Dailyledger.com.ng reports that Dr Uzondu, President-General of Ikwuano Development Union Federated was unrelenting in his support for Dr Otti during the campaign for the governorship and facilitated IDU-F's endorsement of Otti and the Labour Party to the discomfiture of some who argued otherwise.


There are indications that Ikwuano LGA 's broadbased support for Otti/Labour Party may finally bring the LGA into the scheme of affairs contrary to the scenario of the last 24 years where the outgoing PDP administration consigned it to the sidelines.


Dr Otti, besides Uzondu, Nwazuoke, had earlier appointed  Dr Monday Ubani, who spearheaded mass support for him   to the Transition Council
